Upstream authority BPMIGAS recorded that crude oil production from Duri field in Riau, operated by PT Chevron Pacific Indonesia (CPI), has as of October this year averaged 165,500 bopd, lower than the average of 174,900 bopd posted last year. In 2010, production averaged 185,600 bopd.
?CPI is now trying to jack up production in Duri through the NDD (North Duri Development) 12 and 13 projects. With only two months away to finish the year, it?s very difficult to even emulate last year?s average,? Hadi Prasetyo, Head of PR, Security and Formality Division, told petromindo.com.
Chevron has recently announced the start of the NDD Area 13 project, a massive undertaking that includes steam injection program with total investment of US$500 million. This program is targeted to increase production by 17,000 bopd.
The project has 539 wells, comprising 258 production wells, 145 steam injection wells and 36 temperature observation wells.
