Duro Felguera signs contract in Mexico for over 130 million dollars
Tuesday, July 25 2017 - 02:12 PM WIB
The Petacalco power plant, formally called Central Termoel?ctrica Presidente Plutarco El?as Calles, is located in the Mexican state of Guerrero and consists of 7 conventional thermal groups capable of generating 2,778 MW, and is therefore one of the largest generation groups in Latin America.
The new facilities to be built by DF will mean that the power plant is supplied with alternative fuel in addition to what it already receives from the port of L?zaro C?rdenas, located in the state of Michoac?n. The full operation of the plant is thereby guaranteed, which means that it is a strategic project for the energy infrastructure in Mexico. Once the DF project comes into operation, the Petacalco power plant will enable the CFE to improve the electricity supply to the west and centre of the country, reinforcing the balance of the National Transmission System.
The scope of the contract includes the design, supply, construction and commissioning of two new coal storage yards, one at the port of L?zaro C?rdenas and the other at the actual power plant, together with an overland conveyor belt more than 6 kilometres long, connecting the two yards. The project will be complemented with auxiliary equipment for operating the new facilities in accordance with the highest possible safety standards.
The notice to proceed is expected towards the end of August. The new facilities to be built by Duro Felguera should be operating in mid-2019. (ends)
