Duro Felguera wins award for combined cycle power plant in Romania for 269 million Euros

(Gij?n, 02 November 2016)--Duro Felguera, S.A., via its Energy Division, has signed a turnkey contract with ROMGAZ (a company 70% owned by the State of Romania) for the construction of a 430 MW combined cycle power plant in Iernut (Romania). Duro Felguera is at the head of a consortium with the local company Romelectro to deliver the project, valued at 269 million Euros.

The delivery period is 36 months and the project is currently awaiting the order to start, initially foreseen for January 2017.

The delivery of the project awarded will be carried out in a consortium with the local company Romelectro; DF Energy?s scope consists of the basic and detailed engineering, the procurement of the main equipment, supervision of the works and assembly of the gas and steam turbines, and commissioning the facility.

In order to win this contract, DF Energy made the most of its lengthy experience and acknowledged know-how in the design and construction of energy plants.

This award is DF Energy?s first major contract in Eastern Europe. In terms of market and product selection, commercial differentiation and the low risk profile, it ratifies the transformation started by DF Energy a year ago.
