Duta Pertiwi plans South Sumatra power plant project

IDX-listed plywood adhesive maker PT Duta Pertiwi Nusantara Tbk plans to develop a 2x600 MW coal-fired power plant in South Sumatra, Bisnis Indonesia reported on Friday.

The paper quoted Duta Pertiwi President Director Siang Hadi Widjaja as saying that the company?s subsidiary PT Intitirta Primasakti will team up foreign partners in the estimated US$1.5 billion project.

While declining to disclose the identity of the foreign firms, Hadi said that Intitirta will only have between 10-15 percent stake in the power plant project, which is targeted to be completed in 2019.

He said that to help finance the project, the company would either look for bank loans or launch rights issue to raise public funds.

He added that once the project is completed, Intitirta will supply the coal requirement of the plant, estimated at 400,000 tons per month. (*)
