Australian oil and gas company Novus Petroleum Limited reported on Tuesday that gas production from Brantas PSC in East Java, where it has 50 percent working interest, had reached 40 million standard cubic feet per day (MMCFD) in January 2003, or almost double fourth quarter 2002 average production of 24.4 MMCFD.
The company said the significant increase in production followed the completion of Wunut-3 and Wunut-9 wells and stronger East Java market demand and declining production from other gas producer.
?Gas sales arrangement are already in place for additional volumes and increased price and production is expected to more than double 2002 fourth quarter average, over the coming months, ? Novus said.
Brantas PSC is operated by 50 percent interest holder Lapindo Brantas. (alex)
