E. Kalimantan authority to revoke 30 coal mining permits

Regent Andi Harapap said in the regency?s capital of Penajam last week that these mining permits were legally flawed because they were issued during the transition period from the administration of the previous regent to his administration.
According to him, the permits were issued several days before the elected regent and vice regent were inaugurated by the Minister of Home Affairs on July 31.
Andi said that he had sent a letter to the Supreme Court on Jan, 27 to revoke 15 permits issued during the transition period and will send another request for the revocation of the permits of another 15 companies.
The 15 mining companies whose permits were being proposed for revocation include PT Tranindo Resources Jakarta, PT Penajam Prima Coal Bandung, PT Kaltim Jaya Mineral Balikpapan, PT Tengin Sejahtera Samarinda, PT Pasir Prima Coal Ind Balikpapan, PT Mesra Bara Khatulistiwa Balikpapan.
The others are PT Dua-dua Kutai Utama Balikpapan, PT Energi Penajam Mandiri Bandung, KSU Cipta Karya Tani Sepaku, CV Trowells Penajam, PT Binabara Samarinda, PT Harapan Kota Tepian Samarinda, PT Bara Utama Jaya Samarinda, PT Penajam Bara Energi Prima Jakarta. (*)
