E. Kalimantan, Batan to develop nuclear power plant

The East Kalimantan provincial administration signed an MoU Friday with the Natonal Nuclear Agency (Batan) to develop a nuclear power plant to increase future power supply in the region.

Governor Awang Faroek Ishak signed the MoU with Batan Head Djarot S. Wisnubroto.

Awang was quoted by Antara as saying the project was proposed to be located in Talisayan District, Berau Regency.

He expected the state budget to help finance the project. No further details were provided. (*)
