E.Kalimantan coal miner appoints mine contractor

Under the deal, TLC is also to conduct mine design to improve the efficiency of the mine. The design work has been conducted since the end of July this year, the company said.
The company did not reveal the coal production figure, but in 2009 Dondang mine produced 260,000 tonnes only out of 600,000 tonnes targeted by the company for the year.
As of March 2011, Dondang mine has a total coal reserve of around 2.3 million tonnes.
Perdana Karya has eight coal concessions in East Kalimantan with three mines in production stage and five are still in exploration stage. The three producing mines are Teluk Dalam in Samarinda, Bantuas in Kutai Kartanegara regency and Dondang mine.
Those that are still in exploration stage include Marangkayu in Kutai Kartanegara regency and Semoi in Penajam Paser Utara regency.
The company is targeting to produce around 1.6 million tonnes of coal this year. Last year the company?s coal output was around 900,000 tonnes. (denny)
