E. Kalimantan eyeing stake at Mahakam

East Kalimantan provincial administration has expressed interest to get 10 percent interest in the giant Mahakam gas block which is operated by Indonesian unit of French major Total SA.
Kompas.Com quoted East Kalimantan governor Awang Farouk Ishak as saying that the administration will team up with a company called PT Yudhistira.
Total?s PSC contract in Mahakam PSC will expire in 2017 and the company has expressed interest to extend the block?s contract. State oil, gas company has also expressed interest to farm-in the block before the contract expires and to take over the block?s operatorship from 2017.(*)
