State-owned electricity company PT. Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) has started operating the 2x25 MW peaking gas-fired power plant in Tanjung Batu, East Kalimantan, Koran Tempo daily reported on Monday.
The power plant is expected to help resolve the power shortage in the province particularly during peak load.
PLN Operational Director overseeing the eastern Indonesia region, Vickner Sinaga said that PLN plans to operate early next year the 2x42 MW Senipah gas-fired power plant, which would further increase electricity supply in the province. (*)
