E. Kalimantan suspends 11 coal miners

East Kalimantan Governor Awang Faroek Ishak announced over the weekend the suspension of 11 coal miners in the province.
He told a press conference, as reported by Antara, that the miners have failed to carry out reclamation properly at their ex mining sites in Kutai Kartanegara and Samarinda.
He said that since 2010, 14 people had died at the ex mining pits of the miners.
The 11 suspended miners are PT. Himco Coal, PT. Panca Prima Mining, PT. Cahaya Energi Mandiri, PT.Graha benua Etam, PT. Energi Cahaya Industritama, PT. Insani Bara Perkasa, PT. Lana Harita, PT. Transisi Energi Satunama, CV. Atap Tri Utama, CV. Bara SigiMining and PT. Multi Harapan Utama (MHU).
Awang said the suspension can be lifted if the miners have submitted reclamation plan and approved by the administration. (*)
