Vancouver-based mining firm East Asia Minerals Corporation (EAS) reported on Tuesday that ongoing drilling at Bawone, located one kilometre south along structural strike of Binebase, on Sangihe Island, North Sulawesi, has encountered strong primary sulphide mineralization, including 30.8 metres of 1.97 g/t gold in the south-eastern end of the prospect area.

The hole terminated prematurely due to technical difficulties in good gold mineralization at 95.80 metres. The mineralized zone remains open along strike both to the northwest and the southeast, the company reported.

East Asia Minerals is an Asian-based, Canadian mineral exploration company with gold and copper exploration properties in Indonesia, and uranium exploration properties in Mongolia. In Indonesia the Company has a 70 to 85% interest in six advanced gold and gold-copper properties located in Aceh Province, Sumatra, and Sangihe Island, North Sulawesi. Two of these, the Sangihe (Binebase-Bawone) and Barisan 1 (Abong) gold projects are being drilled to define NI43-101 compliant resources. (alex)
