Buyers in East Java start today (Friday) receiving gas supplies from a trio of fields in Kangean block, namely Terang, Sirasun and Batur.

?Like other gas in East Java, all gas from Terang, Sirasun and Batur field is supplied to meet the domestic market needs, particularly the needs of consumers in East Java. This underlines the commitment of BPMIGAS and upstream players to prioritizing the fulfillment of domestic gas needs,? R. Priyono, Head of upstream authority BPMIGAS, said during the ceremony held in Gresik to mark the maiden delivery of gas from the three fields.

Present at the ceremony were Vice Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Rudi Rubiandini, senior governmental officials of East Java provincial administration and Sumenep regency administration and council leaders of both the province and regency.

The fields, better known by the acronym TSB, have been developed based on the revised Plan of Development (PoD) approved by BPMIGAS in 2005. The fields produce gas from nine wells. The gas is gathered and processed at Floating Production Unit Joko Tole to meet the specifications of sale gas before being transmitted to buyers via the 18? pipeline owned by East Java Gas Pipeline (EJGP), BPMIGAS said in a statement.

TSB?s gas production is expected to reach 300-315 mmscfd. All the gas has been allocated for East Java buyers such as PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) (130 bbtud), Petrokimia Gresik (PKG) (65 bbtud), PT Pertamina Gas (Pertagas) (100 bbtud) and Indogas (20 bbtud).
