East Kalimantan coal miner starts production

East Kalimantan coal miner PT QR Tambang Makmur has started commercial production at its mine with initial output of 100,000-120,000 tonnes per month, the company?s official told Petromindo.Com last week.
The official said that the mine, located in Melak district, West Kutai regency, started production in November last year. ?Right now, our coal production can reach around 150,000 tonnes per month,? the official said.
The calorific value of the coal is 5,300-5,100 kcal/kg (GAR), the official said.
All the coal has been fully purchased with most of it to be delivered to Indian market. ?What we can offer right now is spot-market coal under FOB barge,? the official said without giving further details. (denny)
