East Kutai train railway to start construction this October

The construction of 135 kilometers train railway connecting Muara Wahau and Lubuk Tutung at the East Kutai regency of East Kalimantan, is expected to start this Oktober, East Kutai Regent Awang Farouk Ishak said in Jakarta Tuesday.
?I have asked the President to do the ground breaking of the project," he said, adding that the needed land capping process have been completed.
The US$5 billion worth project will be done by the Arabian based Ras AL and Khaimah Minerals and Metals Invesments (RMII), who are also indulging in a number of other projects in East Kalimantan namely 160,000 tons capacity coal terminal, 1,250MW steam powered power plant and cooperating with Nalco India to work on an aluminum smelter having 0.5 million tons per year of installed capacity.
