ECGI plans LNG plant in Maluku

PT East Continent Gas Indonesia (ECGI) plans to develop an LNG plant on Seram Island, Maluku Province, according to a company senior official.
President Commissioner of ECGI, Milton Pakpahan said that the company in cooperation with LEMIGAS is currently conducting technical study including to decide what technology to be applied. "ECGI is also currently waiting for government policy relating to the plan, gas allocation, licenses, LNG offtaker, etc," he said.
Milton said that once the study has been completed and the government has issued clear policy, the company will make details of the proposed LNG project.
