PT Energy Equity Epic Sengkang (EEES), a subsidiary of Australia-listed energy firm Energy World Corporation (EWC), has commenced 2D seismic survey covering 178 km2 within its Sengkang block in South Sulawesi.
The company expects to discover up to 800 bscf in new gas reserve from the survey, which will afterwards be followed up with exploration drilling activities, according to Hadi Prasetyo, Head of PR, Security and Formality Division at SKK Migas.
Hadi did not provide more details, but the company has earlier said that the survey aims at finding new gas reserve, in particular to help supply the LNG plant Phase II to be developed with the capacity of 1 million tons of liquid gas per annum.
