American oil and gas company EEX Corporation said Tuesday its net oil production at the Mudi field of the Tuban Join Operating Body (JOB) block onshore East Java totaled 554,000 barrels or approximately 6,150 barrels per day (bpd) in the first quarter of the year.
The company, in its quarterly report made available to Petromindo.Com on Wednesday, did not provide figures for the last-year quarter as well as the previous quarter.
The company did not either provide figures for the total output of the field, but an official of EEX's partner in the field, Santa Fe, confirmed that total output of the field was 12,300 bpd in the first quarter of the year.
Tuban is 25 percent owned by EEX in partnership with Santa Fe and state oil and gas company Pertamina with 25 percent and 50 percent respectively.
Pertamina however will only receive its oil shares in the block until EEX and Santa Fe fully receive returns of their investment in the block, the Santa Fe official said.
EEX said in its report, aside from the work-over and in-field drilling at Mudi, it had also begun drilling on the exploratory well testing at the Sukawati prospect.
It said the well was expected to be drilled to approximately 9,000 feet.
Sukawati is located about five and a half miles southwest of the Mudi field and lies on trend with a recent significant discovery announced by ExxonMobil Oil Indonesia Inc. which operates the Cepu technical assistance contract (TAC) block offsetting the Tuban block.
Since Sukawati lies along the line between these two blocks, the cost of the well would be shared by EEX and Santa Fe and ExxonMobil (Alex)
