Eight names rumored as candidates for replacement of Kuntoro

Eight senior officials of the state-owned electricity company PLN have been rumored to be the candidates for the replacement of company president Kuntoro Mangkusubroto, the Media Indonesia daily said.

The eight names included PLN finance director Parno Isworo, planning director Hardiv Situmeang, marketing director Edy Widiono, operational director Tunggono, commissioner of Indonesia Power (PLN subsidiary) Rahardjo, president of Indonesia Power Firdaus Rahmat, and head of the power distribution of the Jakarta area and Tanggerang Margo Santoso.

There has been rumors that Kuntoro has been in increasing conflict with Coordinating Minister for the Economy Rizal Rali, who recently rejected Kuntoro's demand for the government to bailout PLN's short-term debt.

Rumors has it that Rizal wants to replace Kuntoro. (*)
