SGX-listed coal mining firm Resources Prima Group Limited said its coal hauling services subsidiary PT Energy Indonesia Resources (EIR) had on October 3 entered into a coal hauling service agreement with PT Coalindo Adhi Nusantara (CAN).
Resources Prima said in a statement Friday that the agreement is effective from November 1, 2017 for a duration of two years.
CAN is a mining company with operations in Desa Batuah, Loa Janan, Kutai Kartanegara, East Kalimantan, Indonesia. Under the agreement, EIR shall provide coal hauling services utilizing its 17 dump trucks to haul approximately 100,000 metric tons per month of coal made available by CAN.
?EIR will re-engage a number of its former employees as well as new contract workers to meet its obligations under the coal hauling service agreement,? Resources Prima said.
EIR in August announced it was laying off workers after the group?s main coal subsidiary PT Rinjani Kertanegara in East Kalimantan suspended mining operations. EIR had been primarily engaged in providing hauling services for Rinjani.
?Following suspension of its operations, representatives from EIR have been in negotiations to provide coal hauling services to third party mining companies with the eventual aim of recommencing operations,? Resources Prima said in the Friday statement.
