El Paso to help Pertamina in marketing LNG to U.S. market: Purnomo

Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy Purnomo Yusgiantoro said that El Paso of the U.S. was certain to help the state-owned oil and gas firm Pertamina to market its LNG into the U.S. market.

Purnomo said that El Paso was interested to help market the Indonesia?s LNG to the U.S. West Coast area because of its relatively cheaper price.

Purnomo declined to disclose figures.

He was speaking to Petromindo.com upon arrival from an overseas trip to U.S. and Japan. He did not provide further details.

However, a source at Pertamina dismissed earlier reports suggesting that El Paso would purchase LNG from Pertamina. The source said that what El Paso intended to do was to help Pertamina to market its LNG product to the U.S. market.(Godang)
