The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has declared Jacobus Purwono, director general of electricity and energy utilization at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, a suspect in a corruption case that allegedly caused a loss of Rp 119 billion (US$=Rp 9,050) to the state.

Also implicated in the same corruption case is Kosasih, an official authorized to make "commmitment act".

?KPK suspected that they marked up prices in home solar system and equipment procurement projects in 2007 and 2008 that had caused Rp 119 billion in losses to the state,? KPK spokesman Johan Budi said on Tuesday.

KPK alleged they had received in stages about Rp 4.6 billion recorded as operating funds from the providers of the equipment during the period of 2007 and 2008, according to Johan. (godang)
