Electricity supply to increase by 294 MW in H2 2013

The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources expects 294 MW of new electricity supply to enter the national grid in the second half of 2013, Bisnis Indonesia reported on Monday.

The paper quoted Director General of Electricity Jarman as saying that the new electricity supply will come from a number of completed power plant projects under the second stage 10,000 MW fast track program. ?In the second semester of 2013, there will be nearly 300 MW of electricity supply to enter (national grid),? Jarman said.

The new electricity supply is expected to come from the 60 MW PLTP (geothermal plant) Patuha, 140 MW PLTG (gas-fired) Bangkanai plant, 2x25 MW PLTU (coal-fired) Lombok plan, 2x10 MW PLTU Bau-Bau, 10 MW PLTU Ketapang, and 2x7 MW PLTU Melak.(*)
