Electricity tariff unchanged

The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources said that electricity tariff of 13 non-subsidized customer categories for the period of 1 July-30 September 2020 is unchanged, or the same as the tariff in the current period of April-June 2020, which has also remained the same since 2017.
The ministry said in a statement that the electricity tariff of 25 subsidized customer categories for the period of 1 July-30 September 2020 is also unchanged. In fact, the government will provide tariff discount for certain customer categories in this group as a form of “cushion” to help deal with the economic impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The ministry said that in the non-subsidized customer categories, for instance, the electricity tariff of household customers with installed capacity of 1,300 VA; 2,200 VA; 3,500-5,500 VA; business customers with installed capacity of 6,600 VA-200 kVA; and government offices with installed capacity of 6,600 VA-200 kVA the electricity tariff is unchanged at Rp 1,467 per kWh.
The government decides the electricity tariff every three months, based on the development of four factors including exchange rate of the rupiah against the US dollar, Indonesia Crude Price, inflation rate and government coal benchmark price.
