Electrification ratio projected to increase to 90.15%

The percentages of villages having access to electricity is projected to reach 99 percent, Secretary of Director General of Electricity Sujatmiko said on Tuesday while presenting the directorate general?s work plan for 2016 in a meeting in Padalarang, West Java.
Power plant capacities are projected to increase by 4,212 MW this year, while 10,721 ckm (circuit kilometers) line will be added to the transmission network and investment is estimated to reach US$16.38 billion.
?Power subsidy is estimated at Rp 38.38 trillion,? he said.
Other planned programs include supervising the quality of service provided by state owned electricity firm PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) (Persero), updating the 2016-2050 National Electricity General Plan (RUPTL) and monitoring the implementation of Electricity Provision Busiess Plan (RUPTL).
The Directorate General will start online system for mailing as part of the efforts to establish information system-based service.
