Elnusa farms out Central Kalimantan exploration block

PT. Elnusa, a unit of state oil and gas company PT. Pertamina had farmed out 49 percent interest in Bangkanai exploration block onshore Central Kalimantan to PT. Mitra Energi Bangkanai, a local company controlled by Ilham Habibie, a son of former president BJ Habibie.

Benki Bagoes Oka, General Manager of Bangkanai block said the partnership is planning to drill one exploratory well on the block late this year.

Elnusa won the block through regular tender in 2003. (alex)
