PT Elnusa, a subsidiary of state-owned oil and gas company PT Pertamina, is currently in talks to acquire ConocoPhillips’ Ramba technical assistance contract (TAC) in onshore South Sumatra, industrial sources said on Wednesday.

Ramba TAC is a mature field. At present, it produces about over 3,000 barrel oil per day. The contract expires in 2010.

Elnusa president director Rudy Radjab did not answer the phone call, when contacted by Petromindo.Com. Conocophillips also did not answer the phone call.

Meanwhile, Pertamina upstream director Sukusen Soemarinda said that he had heard that Conoco wanted to sell its stake in the TAC concession but he had not been updated on the progress of the stake sale.

“Many parties are interested to acquire the Ramba TAC,” he said. (godang)
