Elnusa launches home-made landing craft

PT Elnusa, a subsidiary of oil and gas firm PT Pertamina, officially launched on Thursday a home-made but modern landing craft to support oil and gas exploration activities at Total E&P Indonesie's oil and gas concession area in East Kalimantan.

Investor Daily reported on Friday that the Landing Craftship Tanker was built by its subsidiary PT EWS Oilfield Services with total cost of about US$1 million. "It is a milestone for Elnusa," Elnusa's president director Eddy Syahbuddin said.

According to him, the construction which was all handled by Indonesian engineered was the first landing craft built by PT EWS. The construction of the craft was begun in February and completed in early December, with total cost of about US$1 million, he said.

He said that the craft would be operated to support exploration activities at Total's Handil, Tambora and Tunu fields in East Kalimantan. (*)
