Elnusa plans 3D seismic survey in Andaman III block

IDX-listed upstream services company PT Elnusa Tbk has obtained a new contract from Repsol SA to carry out 3D seismic survey at the offshore Andaman III block, in Aceh Province.

Elnusa through its marine support services subsidiary PT Elnusa Trans Samudra will deploy the ELSA Regent vessel to carry out the 3D seismic survey, which is scheduled to start this month, said Elnusa Corporate Secretary Fajriyah Usman to Petromindo.com on Monday.

Fajriyah said that the 3D seismic survey will cover an area of 2,500 sq km, and is targeted to be completed in about four months.

She said that the ELSA Regent will be equipped with ten streamers and various other equipment.

The Andaman III block covers an area of 8,517 km2 in the water depth of 1,000-1,400 meters. Talisman Energy was awarded the production sharing contract for the Andaman III block in 2009. Repsol acquired Talisman late in 2014.
