IDX-listed oil and gas services company PT Elnusa Tbk said that its recently acquired seismic vessel will be deployed to carry out seismic survey at Abar and Anggursi offshore blocks, in West Java, owned by PT Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE).
Operation Director at Elnusa, Bambang Kardono told Petromindo.com Monday that the vessel has sailed to the Abar block to carry out seismic survey in December.
?This is a sophisticated vessel. It can carry out 3D seismic and process the data on board so that early seismic data can be processed and provide information about hydrocarbon content inside the earth,? he said.
Meanwhile, Elnusa President Director Tolingul Anwar said that the purchase of the marine seismic survey vessel forms part of the company?s strategy to develop national capacity.
Elnusa bought in May a new vessel for marine seismic survey. The newly-purchased vessel has capacities unrivalled in Indonesia. It is capable of carrying 12 streamers, each with length of 10 km. This makes it able to carry out seismic survey on vast sea areas and produce highly-accurate 3D seismic pictures of underwater condition.
