IDX-listed oil and gas services company PT Elnusa Tbk said its new seismic vessel is currently being prepared to carryout seismic survey in the eastern part of Indonesia.
The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources has asked the company to deploy the new seismic vessel in Maluku after recently completing seismic survey in West Java.
"The seismic vessel, named Elsa Regent, is being prepared by the ministry to carry out seismic survey in eastern Indonesia, especially Maluku," Operation Director of Elnusa, Bambang Kardono told Petromindo.com Friday, adding that the company is currently participating in a tender held by the ministry.
The new seismic vessel completed its maiden 2D seismic survey at the offshore Abar and Aggursi blocks, in West Java, owned by PT Pertamina Hulu Energi in late January of this year, Bambang said earlier.
Elnusa bought Elsa Regent in May of last year. The company previously said that newly-purchased vessel has capacities unrivalled in Indonesia. It is capable of carrying 12 streamers, each with length of 10 km. This makes it able to carry out seismic survey on vast sea areas and produce highly-accurate 3D seismic pictures of underwater condition.
