Elnusa starts commissioning of flare gas utilization in Louise field

IDX-listed oil and gas services company PT Elnusa Tbk started on Monday commissioning of its flare gas utilization project in Louise field within the Sangasanga field, East Kalimantan, operated by PT Pertamina EP (PEP).

This is was said by Elnusa Operation Director Bambang Kardono to Petromindo.com on Tuesday.

?Utilization of flare gas in the Louise field is our first project in Pertamina (field), in which the flare gas will be processed into electricity and used by the company itself,? he said.

He said earlier that Elnusa also planned to develop flare gas potential in four locations in South Sumatra and Riau provinces as part of strategy to diversify into power plant business. He said that total investment for the project in the four locations is estimated at Rp 30 billion.

Elnusa announced in February plans to diversify into power plant business to help cope with the current drop in oil price.
