Elnusa to develop flare gas potential in Sumatra

IDX-listed oil and gas services company PT Elnusa Tbk said it will develop flare gas potential in four locations in South Sumatra and Riau provinces as part of strategy to diversify into power plant business.

?In the near future we?ll develop flare gas utilization project in four locations in South Sumatra and Riau (provinces),? said Elnusa Operation Director Bambang Kardono to Petromindo.com on Tuesday.

He said that total investment for the project LED Lighting Wholesale in the four locations is estimated at Rp 30 billion.

Elnusa announced in February plans to diversify into power plant business to help cope with the current drop in oil price. Elnusa President Director Syamsurizal said at the time that the company will utilize flare gas for the planned power plant project, which is in line with the government?s wish to take advantage of flare gas.
