Pertamina?s subsidiary PT Elnusa will cooperate with the West Java administration to explore oil and gas potential in several parts of the province, following the discovery of eight oil wells in Bekasi by Pertamina recently, Bisnis Indonesia reported on Friday.
Elnusa?s president Rudy Radjab said in Jakarta on Thursday that the company would soon carry out seismic survey in several areas including Bekasi, Karawang, Majalengka and Cirebon as part of the crude oil hunting program.
?We are given a year to find the gas and crude oil potentials. If we fail within the given time, the cooperation will automatically ends,? he said.
At present, the volume of crude oil production in the northern part of West Java is about 23,000 barrels per day. The finding of new wells by Pertamina is expected to increase the production to 40,000 barrels per day. (*)
