PT Elnusa will take over the operations of Bajubang oil pipeline in South Sumatra from the previous operator ConocoPhillips Indonesia Inc. to do repairs as the pipeline connecting to Plaju oil refinery is in critical condition, the Bisnis Indonesia newspaper reported in its Wednesday edition.

Meanwhile, the American company has been operating some barge ships as an alternative to the damaged pipeline to carry oil to the refinery.

State oil and gas company PT Pertamina's public relations manager Abadi Purnomo said Elnusa, a subsidiary of Pertamina, will operate the pipeline only on temporary basis or during the repairs.

The pipeline belongs to Pertamina and its operations were handed over to ConocoPhillips.(*)
