ExxonMobil Cepu Limited (EMCL), operator of Cepu block in East Java, is seeking for approval from the Ministry of Forestry and Environment for a revision of environmental impact assessment (or Amdal) document of the Banyu Urip field in the block to allow for higher production.
Vice President of ExxonMobil Indonesia Erwin Maryoto reiterated on Thursday that upstream oil and gas authority SKK Migas has approved the company's plan to increase the field's oil output next year to 200,000 bpd from the current 185,000 bpd.
"Exxon technicians have analyze that output can be increased to 200,000 bpd without adding new facilities," he said.
He said that the company is ready to increase the production, and is currently waiting for the Amdal permit from the environment ministry.
