EMP-chartered ship sinks near Madura

A vessel chartered by EMP Kangean Limiuted, a subsidiary of JSX-listed PT. Energi Mega Persada (EMP) that operates Kangean gas block offshore East Java sank near Madura island on December 28, 2004, EMP said in an announcement filed to The JSX December 30.

EMP said MV Cangak?s crews were unhurt, but the ship and the cargos were lost. EMP said the ship carried fuels, diving equipments and spare parts belonging to its contractor.

EMP said both ship and cargo were insured.(alex)
