EMP: Korinci Baru PSC resumes gas production to normal rate

(Jakarta, 18 October 2010)--Kalila (Korinci Baru) Ltd., a subsidiary of PT Energi Mega Persada Tbk (EMP), today reports that its 100% controlled asset, Korinci Baru PSC, has resumed its gas production to Perusahaan Listrik Negara Teluk Lembu (?PLN?) at 19.00 on Sunday, 17 October 2010.

The gas, pipeline experienced leakage due to excavation works done by PT Budi Tani Kembang Jaya in the palm oil plantations nearby on Friday, 15 October 2010. In its effort to maintain the safety of the community and the environment, Kalila coordinated the works with PLN to temporarily stop the gas flow at 20.23 on 15 October2010.

Kalila?s Area Operations Manager, Agustinus Parinding, says, ?Our field?s test indicates that there is leakage in the pipeline put 1.5 meter depth underground.?

The pipeline?s leakage was successfully repaired and the gas flow was consequently normalized in 8 hours, sooner than the 7 days time as initially estimated.

Agustinus also said that Kalila is still committed to maintain its gas supply to PLN. Kalila currently supplies 7.5 million cubic feet gas per day from its Korinci Baru PSC asset to PLN which in turn produces 18 Megawatt electricity for the residential consumers and industrial estate in Pekanbaru Area.

Kailla looks forward to increasing its total production to 30 million cubic feet gas per day, from Segat 2, Segat 3, Segat 4, and Seng 1 wells. (end of release)
