EMP reports Segat-2 work over well returns to normal

IDX-listed oil, gas firm PT Energi Mega Persada Tbk reported on Monday that Segat-2 work-over well in Bentu PSC in Central Sumatra has recommenced and situation has returned to normal.

The Company reported on March 15, 2010 that the well experienced gas flow incident.

Head of Investor Relations Herwin W Hidayat said that there has been no injuries to personnel, no loss or damage to drilling equipment and that the well remains in good order to complete the well work over.

Costs associated with the gas flow incident are covered under the Company?s insurance policy, it said.

The Segat-2 well work over is part of a three well work over program for Segat, 3 and 4. The Three wells are material gas discoveries drilled in 1995, 1999 and 2004 respectively. The two objectives of the current work over program are to complete the wells, readying them for (i) gas deliverability testing and (ii) reservoir characteristics assessment.

The Company remains on track to commence production from the Segat field in 2010, it said. (alex)
