EMP restarts gas supply from Pagerungan field

Monday, December 4 2006 - 08:05 AM WIB

JSX-listed oil and gas company PT Energi Mega Persada Tbk (EMP) said Monday that its wholly owned subsidiary EMP Kangean Ltd had restarted gas supply from Pagerungan field since December 1.

The gas supply flows at up to 45 million cubic feet per day (MMCFD), the company said in statement.

Earlier, EMP suspended gas production at 9 onshore production wells in Pagerungan field of the Kangean PSC on November 22, 2006. The move followed a gas pipeline explosion in Porong, East Java.

Gas from the Kangean PSC currently serves two major customers in East Java: state owned fertilizer firm PT Petrokimia Gresik and public utility PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN). The gas production rate prior to the incident was 64 MMCFD.

EMP owns a 100 percent working interest in the Kangean PSC. (denny)
