JSX- listed oil and gas company, PT Energi Mega Persada Tbk (EMP) on Wednesday reported its subsidiary. Kangean Energy Indonesia Ltd had resumed oil production at its Sepanjang Field in Kangean PSC offshore East Java on October 8, 2007.

Sepanjang oil supplies were temporarily stopped in April 2007 due to technical problems at its leased Floating Storage Offshore (FSO) unit

A newly leased ?Concorde? Tanker with higher storage capacity of 230,000 Bbls has replaced the previous one to ensure smooth oil production from the field. The field is now recommencing production at a rate of 3,500 barrels of oil per day from the SED-1A well, the company said, adding that the well has the capacity to produce up to 9,000 BPD of oil. ?The subsurface and surface production facilities will be fine tuned over the coming months to determine the optimal rate of production,? it said.
