The company did not give comparative figures, only saying the average daily gas production in the nine-month period is slightly higher than that average production recorded in the first semester of this year.
As production at Sepanjang oil field in Kangean PSC remains suspended since August 2010, the company relies on other fields for production. Oil production at its Malacca Strait PSC reached 4,200 bpd, 4,400 and 4,400 bpd for July, August and September, respectively.
KEI, the operator of Kangean PSC, was forced to shut down crude production operation at Sepanjang field in August 2010 after its floating storage and offloading (FSO) vessel caught fire.
The company said that another FSO vessel will arrive at the block this month to resume oil production at Sepanjang field.
The company also plans to start commercial production by the end of this year or early next year at its Segat gas field in Bentu PSC, onshore Riau and Pagerungan Utara oil field, offshore East Java in Kangean PSC.
The company did not give further details.(denny)
