EMP starts oil production at E. Java block

IDX-listed oil, gas firm PT Energi Mega Persada (EMP) reported on Tuesday that it has started oil production from Pagerungan Utara field in Kangean PSC, offshore East Java.
The company said that production currently stood at 6,000 barrels per day.
According to the company, oil produced is stored at a floating production storage offloading vessel which can store up to 400,000 barrels of crude.
EMP has 50% interest in Kangean PSC with the remaining balanced controlled by Japanese firms Mitsubishi Corp. and Japan Petroleum Exploration Co.
The company also reported that it has recently resumed oil production from Sepanjang field which is located in the same PSC area and is currently producing at 1,800-2,000 BPD. (alex)
