EMP to open EPC tender for Terang-Sirasun gas field

JSX-listed oil and gas firm PT. Energi Mega Persada Tbk. (EMP) said on Friday that it would open EPC tender for the development of its Terang-Sirasun gas field in Kangean PSC offshore East Java later this month with a view to flow first gas in 2007 to fill the need of industrial province of East Java.

Senior Vice President and General Manager EMP? Kangean Limited Muhammad Suluhuddin Noor told reportes that the filed will flow 300-350 MMCFD in full production. Field?s development would cost US$400 million. He said 3D seismic would be carried out soon.

Noor also said EMP would also commence development Rancak field in the third quarter of 2005 to boost gas production from declining Pagerungan field from 80 MMCFD presently to 140 MMCFD. Along with Rancak development EMP would develop JH53A marginal oil field, which will bring 4,000-5,000 BPD production in 2007.

Noor was speaking on the sideline of MoU between EMP Kangean and electricity firm PT. PJB, fertilizer maker PT. Petro Kimia Gresik, state gas distribution firm PGN, Pertamina and PT. Persada Kriya Indogas, an industrial gas buyer.(godang)
