EMP to spud 3 wells

IDX-listed PT Energi Mega Persada Tbk. (EMP) plans to spud three wells, including two wells on the Malacca Strait block and one well in the Tonga block this year, according to an official at the firm.

?We will spud three wells, namely BK-3 and DC-7 in the Malacca Strait block and Southeast Tonga-1 in the Tonga block,? said EMP?s Investor Relations Herwin W. Hidayat to Petromindo.com on Wednesday.

According Herwin, the spudding date in the Malacca Strait is ?still being finalized?

Meanwhile the spudding date and procurement of the rig facility in the Tonga block has not yet been determined, he said.

Located between Dumai in Riau and Sibolga in North Sumatra, the Tonga PSC is 71.25 percent owned by PT EMP Tonga (operator), 23.75 percent by PT Kencana Surya Kencana, and 5 percent by PT Petross Exploration. EMP also operates the Malacca Strait PSC, with a 34.46 percent participating interest, in partnership with PT Imbang Tata Alam with 26.03 percent of PI, OOGC Malacca Ltd. with 32.58 percent, and Malacca Petroleum Ltd. with 6.93 percent.
