EMP to start production from N. Sumatra block in 2009

IDX-listed oil, gas firm PT.Energi Mega Persada (EMP) expects to produce 2,000 barrels per day of oil from its Tonga PSC, North Sumatra early next year, a company executive said.
CEO Christian Ponto told reporters on Monday that one development well will be drilled in the block following put-on production approval from BPMIGAS.
Previous operator has discovered oil in one well, which was tested at 850 BPD of oil per day from two zones.
EMP acquired the block in April 2008. (denny)
