IDX-listed oil and gas firm PT Energi Mega Persada Tbk (EMP) said that it would not relinquish its interests in the Offshore North West Java (ONWJ), Kangean, Bentu and Tonga blocks, dismissing earlier rumors.

In fact, at the Tonga block, EMP has recently increased its stake from 54 percent to 90 percent.

?EMP will not relinquish its interests in ONWJ, Kangean, Bentu and Tonga. We in fact is working hard for production (from the four blocks) in 2013 to reach 55,000 boepd and above 60,000 boepd in 2014,? Head of Investor Relations at EMP, Herwin Hidayat told Petromindo.com Tuesday.

Herwin added that EMP has just completed the transfer of stake at the Masela block to Inpex Corp and Shell. ?Only the stake at Masela we officially relinquished. Other than that, I stress there?s none,? he said.
