Endesa seeks long-term coal supply from Kalimantan miners

Spanish electricity firm Endesa SA said it is in talks with three Kalimantan coal miners to secure long-term supply for its power plants in Spain.
Official Javier Perez Maroto told Petromindo.Com that the company is negotiating with PT.Adaro Indonesia, PT.Berau Coal and PT.Kideco Jaya Agung.
?We want to shift our supply source from Africa to Asia Pacific countries such as Indonesia, China and Australia,? he said.
In 2007, the company imported 3.5 MT of Indonesian coal an expected the volume to increase to 4MT in 2008 and 2009, he said.
According to him, Endesa needs 15 MTPA of coal to fuel its power plants in Spain. (denny)
