East Kalimantan-based coal miner PT Energi Batu Hitam?s first coal production will be delayed a year from initial schedule to Q3-Q4 2012, the company?s official told Petromindo.Com.

The commercial production will be delayed about one year due to social community problem in the surrounding Batu Hitam?s mine, the official said without giving details

Earlier, the company plans to start commercial production in the fourth quarter of 2011 with initial production of 150,000 tonnes of coal.

Calorific value of the mine's coal deposit ranges between 4,500-6,000 kcal/kg (ADB), while its moisture is between 20-35%, ash content 5% at maximum and sulfhur content 1%

The mine is located at Muara Lawa sub-district in West Kutai regency, which it is only 30 kilometers away from the Mahakam river. (denny)
