Energi Cahaya exceeds 2011 coal output target

East Kalimantan coal miner PT Energi Cahaya Industritama (ECI), which was previously named Nadvara or Arcom is producing 400,000 tonnes per month currently, surpassing this year?s target of 2 million tonnes of coal.

The industrial source told Petromindo.Com that as of mid November the company has produced 2.6 million tonnes of coal. All the coal from its mine has been contracted by international traders including Noble, Glencore, Oora and Pan Asia Corporation.

Calorific value of the coal is 5,300-5,100 kcal/kg (ADB).

For next year, the company has not decided on the output figure target, but at least the company will produce 2 million tonnes, the source said.

At present, the company is using PT United Coal Indonesia as main contractor and several other local contractors.

ECI mine is located in Samarinda Seberang, Samarinda, capital of East Kalimantan. ECI is a unit of First Borneo International Group. (denny)
